Tuition Information

Tuition Amounts

Tuition for 2018-19 will be $5,200 for the year. Tuition for subsequent years may increase, but we are committed to keeping it affordable for working families. Please contact us for more information.

Grants And Tuition Remissions

WTEE itself offers no individualized tuition reduction plan beyond the fact that tuition is kept as low as possible for students enrolled in this institute.  The national association of Waldorf Schools,  AWSNA,  offers a loan-to-grant program for Education Year students only, who intend to become full-time Waldorf teachers. More information below.

Tuition Payment Policy

Three payment plans are offered:

  • One payment of full tuition

  • Three payments due at the beginning of each term, prorated to number of weeks per term

  • Ten monthly payments of one tenth the total, due at the beginning of each month

Refund Policy

Should a student exit the program before the year's end for any cause, any remaining pre-paid tuition extending beyond the last day that classes were attended will be refunded within ten business days.

AWSNA Teacher Education Loans

The Association of Waldorf Schools of North America offers a Loan-to-Grant Program exclusive to Education Year Students.  These students must be in good standing with our institute,  have shown previous financial responsibility, and intend to work as teachers in AWSNA or WECAN affiliated schools.

This Loan covers no more than 60% of the annual tuition and is forgiven by 1/3 each year, becoming a Grant after 3 years of 3/4 to full-time employment.

WTEE will coordinate the application for the Loan to Grant monies in the fall of the student's Education Year after classes have begun in September.  Each student signs a legal contract with AWSNA.  The funds are sent to WTEE and applied to tuition directly.   Prospective applicants should plan to make tuition payments until the loan process is finalized, generally late fall.  The amount of the loan  fluctuates annually as it is a shared among all teacher education institutes which are members of AWNSA.

Currently Practicing Teacher Matching Grants Program

For those teacher education students already employed at an affiliated school and enrolled full time in WTEE, there is a grant specific to currently practicing teachers which may be applied for through WTEE at the same time and in the same manner as the loan to grant funds.   This grant requires a dollar for dollar match from the employing school or other acceptable source.   More about each can be found at https://waldorfeducation.org/TELG.
